Survival mode is a single player mode, first debuted in Tekken 2 and has featured in every successing sequel to date. The player has to go battle unlimited battles with a limited recovery. The health bar doesn't go 100 % full, but instead small amounts of health are given from each win. As more wins the player gets, the better he/she is. This goes on until the player eventually loses. This mode is basically for entertainment purposes only, as there really isn't anything the player could unlock from this mode (with the exception of Tekken 3, where the player can unlock Gon by entering the initials "GON" in the leaderboards).

Tekken 2[edit]

This is the games debut. Defeat as many opponents as possible. Top 10 scores will be shown on the leaderboards. Scores can be seen either as numbers or as fruits. The same rule applies to Tekken 3.

Tekken 3[edit]

Tekken 3's Survival mode is the same as Tekken 2's. The only difference is that if the player manages to get to the leaderboards, they can unlock Gon by entering initials GON. The top 10 scores will be shown on the leaderboards.

Tekken Tag Tournament[edit]

The survival mode, this time with two characters in one team. It is possible to play this mode with a friend if the Pair Play option is on when accessing the mode and if the second controller is plugged in.

Tekken Advance[edit]

This mode also featured in Tekken Advance for Gameboy Advance. Top 10 scores will be shown on leaderboards.

Tekken 4[edit]

Tekken 4's Survival mode is unique because it lists both a leaderboard with the player's single top score for each individual character, and a classic leaderboard with the top score all characters mixed. The leaderboard size has also been extended to 20 entries.

Tekken 5[edit]

Now the player can earn money from Survival mode, as the new customazions and the money system are featured in the game. The money amount increases every 5 fights. Like in its predecessor, the top 20 scores will be shown on leaderboards.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection[edit]

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection's Survival mode is basically the same as Tekken 5's Survival mode , except the player gets significantly more money than in Tekken 5.

Tekken 6[edit]

Tekken 6's Survival mode is the same as Tekken 5's Survival mode, but the only difference is that the leaderboard size has been extended to 40 entries.
