Introduction
Angel vies with Devil over Kazuya Mishima's soul. Angel represents Kazuya's good part. Not much else is said about her or mentioned beyond Tekken 2. Fans believe that her appearance may have been based on Kazuya's mother. Also, Jun Kazama may also be Angel, though this is pure speculation.
Angel and Asuka
It can be said that Asuka Kazama is actually the reincarnation of Angel. This theory is stemmed from the following facts:
- In Asuka's ending in Tekken 5, she unknowingly reverses the Devil Gene within Jin Kazama just by touching him. Angel's ending in Tekken Tag Tournament was unmistakably similar, as she reversed the Devil Gene within Kazuya and leaves before he regains consciousness.
- Kazuya's body was recovered and resurrected 20 years after The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2, with full control of the Devil Gene.
- Asuka is around 17 during the time of Tekken 5.
- Asuka is a relative of Jun Kazama, her niece to be more exact, as stated in the official Tekken 5 web, where it's said that she's Jin's cousin.
- At one time, Jun Kazama was thought to be Angel, since she was trying to bring peace to Kazuya's soul.
With all of these facts, one theory could be that during Kazuya's resurrection in the hands of G Corporation, the tests he went through further advanced his body's acceptance of the Devil Gene within him and his hatred for his father, and as a result, suppressed the Angel so much that it was actually forced out of his body. Since it was believed that Angel was an extension of Jun's love and concern for Kazuya that fought the evil within him, it could have searched for another Kazama descendant to lay dormant within until it came into contact with the Devil Gene once more (Asuka's ending.). It then found its way into an unborn Asuka Kazama. Asuka may have a strong sense of justice, but because of the atmosphere she grew up in, as opposed to that of Jun's, she relied more on her physical strength rather than her inner strength. Even though Jin and Asuka do not know of each other, the spirits within their souls know each other too well, and when Asuka showed genuine concern for Jin in her ending, the Angel laying dormant in her awakens in order to once again suppress the Devil Gene that is so desperately trying to claim those in the Mishima bloodline (with the exception of Heihachi Mishima.).
Story
Tekken 2
Angel is the other half of Kazuya Mishima's soul. She represents Kazuya's good side. Although Kazuya is seemingly possessed with a black heart, there is still some good left in him. Angel will battle against Devil so that she may have Kazuya's soul.
Ending Animation "Fallen Angel"
Tekken Tag Tournament
Angel is a playable character in Tekken Tag Tournament. However, Tekken Tag Tournament is not a part of the Tekken series' canonical storyline. This is Angel's last appearance as a playable character so far.
Ending Animation
Angel stands next to Devil, who is laying on the ground. She crouches and touches his head. Devil transforms into Kazuya Mishima (the screen goes white during this transformation). A closeup of Angel smiling is shown. Kazuya regains consciousness, and rises slightly. Angel is nowhere to be seen. This ending takes place in Unknown's stage.
