General info

Ever since she entered the game from tekken 3 she has been regarded as one of the weaker characters of the game. She is uncommonly played, due to her difficulty, and even more uncommonly played to her maximum potential. She is one of the most technically demanding characters ever introduced in the game (along with Lei Wulong), but with experience she is rewarding to play.

General Key for Ling:

• RDS - Rain Dance Stance, more commonly known as back turned (b+3+4)
• AOP - Art of Phoenix stance (d+1+2)

Strengths

• Great mixups to confuse your enemy.
• Considerably fast.

Weaknesses

• Unless she is played well and there is usage of her stances to sidestep/avoid moves, she is quite vulnerable to all attacks.
• One of the least damaging characters of Tekken, as strength is not her specialty.

Tier

ALthough the Korean Tier list places Ling in 'A' rank (the ranks from best to worst is S, A, B, C), not many people use her wisely so they stereotype her into Mid (equivalent to B rank).

Openers

As with all other characters it is customary to back dash cancel, or to run back immediately, sidestep etc., but it is also good to step back and perform storming flower (d/b+1). Due to storming flower's range it is common that the opponent will get hit.

Punishers

• After low parry: d/f+2~1 (launch into juggle)
• 1,d+2 (if you hold down it stops her going into RDS)
