| I was watching the opening clip of tekken 5 very closely and if you watch it as slow as possible you will notice that Feng's Master doesn't try to defend himself, in fact he just stands there waiting to be hit! He doesn't move to block or evade, he just stands there. Ideas anyone?

| Taken by surprise. He was in the middle of scolding Feng after all, and the attack itself probably only took a second or two from beginning the movement to the point it connected. Taken by surprise, in shock of the event happenening (violent betrayal), and in a bad stance to begin with, a second or two isn't enough time to block or evade, especially since reflexes are slowed from the shock.

| I get that, but a Shinken master surely would have expected something or had good enough reflexes to move a bit. Maybe your right, but I just wanted to raise the point.

| Not really. Master or not, he's still human, and probably wouldn't expect one of his own students act on impulse and kill him in a sudden fit of rage/resentment. So the shock of his (probably) best student suddenly trying to kill him would probably have stunned his movements for several seconds, no matter how quick reflexes he normally has. Basic human psychology, you let your guard down in places you are familiar with and around people you know.
