Miharu Hirano is Ling Xiaoyu's best friend and schoolmate at Mishima High School. Miharu is an alternate "costume" for Xiaoyu in Tekken 4.
She is Japanese, has short reddish-brown hair, and brown eyes. Additionally, she also has the same martial arts moves as her friend Xiaoyu. One could note that they train together (it is possible that Xiaoyu taught Miharu simply because she is her best friend.). Like Jin Kazama, Miharu also calls Ling "Xiao" as a nickname.

- "Miharu" means to "stand guard, watch."
- Miharu's name written in kanji is "平野 美晴." It translates into "plain beauty clear."
- After completing Xiaoyu's story mode, Miharu is selectable by pressing O. Unfortunately, Miharu cannot fight herself. Instead, if another player attempts to select Miharu, they will get Xiaoyu in her school uniform instead.

Miharu appears as a palette-swap for Ling Xiaoyu in Tekken 4, sharing the same prologue and epilogue. However, due to a bug in the coding, Ling Xiaoyu players prefer Miharu, as she has a slight advantage in terms of fighting.

Xiaoyu defeated Heihachi. No one foresaw this outcome. Soon thereafter, Xiaoyu learned of Heihachi's many evil deeds. He was clearly guilty of supporting the raid on G Corporation. The evil nature of the Mishima Zaibatsu was finally revealed.

In her / Ling Xiaoyu's Tekken 4 ending, Xiaoyu, who is now the Chief Executive Officer of the Mishima Zaibatsu, is visited by Miharu. Miharu confesses that she failed all of her school exams. Then, Xiaoyu offers Miharu a job at the Mishima Zaibatsu. Xiaoyu wants Miharu to help her build the amusement park of her dreams. This ending is not canon.
