[editar] Homepage Updates

Please run the homepage updates past me first before implmenting them, it's great adding the information but I want to make sure that any new elements match the design and colors of the existing site. I'm also going to arrange the lists of "quick start" information (the games, media etc) into dual columns over the next couple of days. Also, I'm taking suggestions on the next character of the month (for november) put your votes in here :) Samuel 03:47, 29 October 2007 (PDT)

Not to sound patronizing or anything, but what colors? And more importantly, what design? I mean, we have two shades of blue and that's pretty much the only real color we got (apart from the yellow-ish thing on the front page and if you count gray as a color instead of a contrast). As for design, we have 3 templates with any actual design (which is essentially the same design) and then we have a general setup for articles. All in all, there's not really that much to match new elements to. But even so, the former table of Contents we had, matched the colors somewhat (needed a lighter shade of gray), and it displayed the information better than the current setup (and also more correct), so I'm a bit confused as to why the entire table had to go, instead of just tweaking the colors. But then again, you did say you weren't finished, so it might improve once you do. I'll withhold any actual judgement until then. As for Character of the month, you might as well let Anna stay, because only 2½ days as CotM seems somewhat "unfair". --Hecko 07:02, 29 October 2007 (PDT)

For December, I suggest Lili. For January, I suggest Wang Jinrei. For February, I suggest Eddy Gordo. I'm not saying they should be the ones. They are just some suggestions. Some other good ones are Lee Chaolan, Michelle Chang or Julia Chang, King I or King II, Ling Xiaoyu, and Marshall Law or Forest Law. Again, I'm not saying they should be featured sometime, I'm just giving some suggestions.

I still prefer the "Random page" selection over randomly choosing a character. Hwoarang has only been the "Character of the Month" for March. Yes, Samuel did do that, Tekken-EX. I think it's fixed now, but if not, I'll fix it.

Okay. I've fixed it so that all of Samuel's recently added improvements are on the Main Page now.

I think the next COTM: Nina, Anna, Lili, Jin, Xioayu, Mokojin (as he's EVERYBODY!!!) Or Alisa! for November 2009 'TekkenRULES' :D

  1. Anna Williams (the last few days of October and all of November).
  2. Steve Fox (December).
  3. King (the second) (January).
  4. Doctor Boskonovitch (February).
  5. Hwoarang (March).

I don't think it's that important. They're only selected by random anyway, rather than other forms of choice by selecting good articles, with all information needed and then some. I like the idea, from another wiki I've seen, putting a template at the bottom of articles that were previously Featured Article/Character of the Month saying what month/year they were featured in. Also the page, IMO, should be "List of Character of the Months, abbreviations in names aren't preferred. But whatever. I edited it to make it look nicer.

I would like to know about this, too. I hate to see so much work just vanish. I'm hoping that it can be restored to prevent having to do all of that all over again.

Okay, this is my business, but my english is not very good... I don't know if it is because of something like a virus or an human error, but the server seem to have done a rollback. Every database saves its actual status in another virtual database every imposted amount of time for security. For example every month. if an error occours the database administrator can rollback to the transiction before the appearance of the error and restore the situation. Anyway this is something like a "last chance" because doing this you also lose wanted changes. So, if the rollback was really unintentional, the db administrator can return to the sequent transiction, if there is any, and restore the changes made by users. For this reasons I think unless the admin says he can't restore our previous changes, every change we made from now on will be lost in the moment he returns the server to the state it was before the rollback.--KombatGod 18:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Um, hey, guys, I haven't been on the Tekkenpedia for a while and I was just sort of wondering what the new site name, "Tekkenpedia English" meant. Does it mean there's versions of the Tekkenpedia in multiple languages? 18:25, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

I am asking here because I don't know where i could make this question.

I was playing the game Namco X Capcom with an english patch and see that it has characters of Tekken (Jin, King II, etc…) then I thought if it would be worth to create a page for this game

[editar] Why is Tekken Tag a Spin-Off?

I know the game has no storyline, but it's too vital to the series to be considered that low of a title. To my knowledge, this is the only place in existence that labels the game a spin-off.

I demand to know why you think it is. Tekken Tag should be labeled an Upgrade, along with Tekken 5 DR and Tekken 6 BR, because Tag is an upgrade to Tekken 3. It does NOT deserve to be called a spin-off.

First off, please mind your way of phrasing. Who are you to 'demand' anything here or on any other website for that matter? Ask nicely or you are more likely to be flamed than to get an answer.
Secondly, since when is calling something a spin-off considered negative? It's like saying that prequel is inferior to sequel; i.e. not a very logical statement.
Thirdly, it's a spin-off because it carries the Tekken name, it is based on Tekken lore, but it takes place outside of Tekken canon, i.e. it is by definition a spin-off. --Hecko 14:16, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, a spin-off is not a bad thing. It just means that it takes place outside the original storyline. For instance, had Devil Within been released as a stand-alone game instead of as a 'mini-game' in Tekken 5, then it would also have been considered a spin-off. --Hecko 14:39, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

So I've been looking at some of ages and also D.O.B's for some of the characters, and while I don't know where the info came from for the years they were born, there are very noticeable inconsistencies. Look at both Marshall Law and Heihachi's info. Law was born in 1959 and is about 48 by T5, which places T5/6 in about 2007. Heihachi, too, born in 1932 and is 75, which again puts us at 2007. Now let's look at say, Asuka. Born in 1985, 17 years old. So, now T5 is in 2002? And Feng Wei, born in 1967 and is 26 years old. Ok, so NOW we're in 1993. Wang, born 1904, 105 years old at T5, so now that's 2009. These are just a few examples. As you can all see, this is a problem. I know the actual ages for the characters are often listed somewhere by Namco, so I can only conclude that some of these D.O.B's just have to be wrong. Unless the characters are fighting in tournaments in parallel realities with weird time warps going on, a lot of them are definitely inaccurate. --Xagzan 1 November 2009 (UTC)

The ages are accurate, the DOBs are BS and should be removed. Namco has never given any specific DOB for any Tekken character (maybe with the exception of Nina and Anna in DbD, I'm not sure). --Hecko 10:29, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Is this rule not enforced again? Because I've noticed some silly edits by random IP addresses.

Edits to the main character pages are still blocked and require a verified user. Other pages I've relaxed a little bit (like the move pages etc). If a page is pretty much complete and it's unlikely to have any additional changes then I'll lock it. If you've noticed any pages that I haven't locked that I should, let me know here. Suggestion: All the installments up to Dark Resurrection and Tekken Tag Tournament should be [b]locked. I would say the new Street Fighter X Tekken page as well, but maybe some IP user could find information we didn't find first. --User:YouriKamachii

I'm assuming that Tekken X Street fighter is likely to be a spin off title rather than a canicol game in the series due to the lack of any story details that have been released. Generally in Tekken press releases announcing new games in the past you get some details about the story. In this case nothing has been released so far. Samuel 23:52, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

I think Tekken X Street Fighter (The Tekken Version) and Street Fighter X Tekken (The Street Fighter version) should be seperate pages. --Sakura
