Ho Chi Myong, also known as "The Legendary Capoeira Master", is the man that taught Eddy Gordo Capoeira. He is also the grandfather of Christie Monteiro, who was taught Capoeira by Eddy Gordo. The Tekken 3 opening shows Ho Chi Myong and Eddy fighting off guards in prison, which probably occurred pre-Tekken 3. Ho Chi Myong was set to be free after a long prison sentence in Tekken 5, but he had become a weak old man. This is the reason for both Eddy and Christie's participation in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5; to acquire a cure for Ho Chi Myong with technology from the Mishima Zaibatsu. In Eddy and Christie's shared Tekken 5 ending, he appears alive and well; however, this ending is not canon. Before the events of the 6th Tournament, Ho Chi Myong was transferred to a hospital owned by Jin Kazama and the Mishima Zaibatsu, after Eddy made an agree with Jin to work for him in return for the equipment to save his master.
