Originally made for the PlayStation Portable, it has been ported to the PlayStation 3 game system. The Playstation 3 version was made available to download on February 26, 2007 for the people who have a US PlayStation network account, and the Japanese version was made available to download on December 12, 2006 for the people who have a Japanese PlayStation network account. [edit] Gameplay

Over 35 stages are available, including all-new stages and a remade forest stage from Tekken 3. All of the existing stages from Tekken 5 have been set in different times of day, with different appearances (Heihachi's Hon-Maru compound, which was called Burning Temple in Tekken 5, for instance, is not burning anymore, and the Secret Garden stage is now strewn with jack-o-lanterns.). The prior versions of these stages are still available, but they must be unlocked. The game features 35 playable characters. There are many more customization items for the characters, and for the first time, Mokujin and Eddy Gordo can be customized, as well. All extra costumes from the PS2 edition of the game are present, and some, such as Ling Xiaoyu and Asuka Kazama's school uniforms, have been made customizable. The three animal characters, Kuma, Panda, and Roger Jr., have had their custom color regions expanded / reworked, including color options for Roger Jr. and Panda's fur. The bear characters have more expressive facial animation (mouth movement). Eddy Gordo is a standard character, separate from Christie Monteiro, with his own character select space and customization items. Armor King returns to the Character Roster with many of his own moves rather than sharing many of King I and King II's moves. All characters have acquired some new moves. Many characters have received new animations, shown before and after a battle. Most have only one new animation, but some, like Lee Chaolan, have received two. Jinpachi Mishima has an altered appearance, with a skin texture like veins of fire or flowing magma, and a glowing white horn protrudes from his forehead. The selection screen and VS loading screen sport new CG renders of all the characters, most featuring new default color schemes.

[edit] Ver. B

A patch known as "Ver. B" was introduced to the arcade version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and contained several minor changes to the characters and movesets in an attempt to balance them out.

[edit] Story

Following the conclusion of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4...

Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama fight an epic father-son duel at Honmaru, of the Mishima Zaibatsu. When the dust settles, Jin is victorious. Disgusted, Heihachi Mishima turns his back on Kazuya.

"Was that the best you could do? Pathetic! You deserve to die."

A duel ensues between Heihachi and Jin... Jin sprouts black wings and goes berserk with rage, proving to be more than a match for Heihachi. Jin, however, regains his senses just before dealing the lethal blow.

"Be thankful for Jun Kazama...my mother."

Saying this, he flies off, leaving Honmaru behind. Heihachi is drained and defeated and lies sprawled on the ground. Once again, the battleground is silent.

However, the silence is short-lived. Soon the sound of an aircraft can be heard approaching. The buzz grows to a roar, and something can be heard launching from the craft. A hoard of Jacks suddenly burst through the ceiling, invading the compound.

At first Heihachi thinks that Kazuya has orchestrated the invasion. Kazuya, however, is roused by the rumbling and shaking, and obviously doesn't know what is going on either.

"Who are you?!"

Just as Heihachi shouts, the Jacks attack both of them. Heihachi and Kazuya are forced to fight together and begin destroying the Jacks. However, for every Jack they wreck, two more seem to take its place. Just as Heihachi begins to show signs of fatigue, Kazuya betrays him, hurling him into the midst of their enemies.

"Nnnoooooooo!!! Kazuyaaaaaa!!!"

Ignoring Heihachi's screams, Kazuya escapes Hon-maru while the enemies are distracted. Immediately afterwards, Honmaru erupts in a massive explosion and is annihilated. A man cloaked in black silently watches the explosion.

Placing his hand on his ear, he checks his transmission signal and reports: "Heihachi Mishima is dead..."

Immediately after his transmission, a single Jack attacks him from behind, but is obliterated with a single stroke of the man's blade.

With that, the man vanishes.

Desolated and in flames, all traces of Hon-maru have been destroyed. No one remains to witness the creature that bursts out of the ground amidst the rubble.

The following day the world learns of the death of Heihachi Mishima, leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu. This should have marked the end of the Mishima Zaibatsu, but a mysterious figure assumes leadership of the organization, restoring order to it as if nothing has occurred.

One month passes...

Mishima Zaibatsu announces it will host The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.

The mysterious King of Iron Fist Tournament is about to begin once more...

[edit] New Characters

The new characters.
The new characters.

There are two brand new characters in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Sergei Dragunov and Lili, as well as the returning character Armor King. According to Tekken Zaibatsu, "Dragunov is described as a human weapon... with origins tracing back to the frozen tundra", and "Lili is a rich girl from Monaco." Dragunov fights with Sambo, and Lili uses her skills in dance to fight in her own "tricky" style. Armor King uses a wrestling style different than King I and King II's, but he still retains some of King I and King II's moves.

[edit] Tekken Dojo

Tekken Dojo is a new mode. The player picks a character and battles a variety of Ghost characters in ranked battles. Doing well in League Tournaments improves the player's rank. After becoming the number one fighter in one dojo, the player will acquire access to the next dojo. The difficulty increases the further the player progresses into the island.

See the main article, Tekken Dojo, for more information.
