[edit] Introduction
Bruce Irvin is a character in the Tekken series. Bruce has been featured as a playable character in Tekken 2, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 5, and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Bruce has been confirmed to return in Tekken 6.
Bruce is an African-American. He is highly skilled in the art of Muay Thai. At an early age, Bruce lost his father, mother, and older brother. Bruce turned to fighting and joined the police force. Bruce was Lei Wulong's partner, and a friend. He was also a role model for children, as shown in his endings. Bruce was sent to Japan to investigate the Mishima Zaibatsu, which Kazuya Mishima was corrupting. Kazuya arranged for the plane to crash, and Bruce survived without his memory. Kazuya's men rescued him, and Bruce became one of Kazuya's bodyguards. After fighting his old partner, Lei, in Tekken 2, Bruce escaped by plane once again, but the plane exploded.
In Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, Ogre / True Ogre used some of Bruce's moves (such as "Foot Bazooka" and "Double Elbow"). This implies that Ogre / True Ogre attacked Bruce. However, it has not been confirmed that Ogre / True Ogre attacked Bruce.
Many thought that Bruce was dead, but in Tekken 5, it was revealed that Bruce had been working for several special units, and was currently working as a survival technical guidance instructor. He entered Tekken 5 in order to test his skills once again.

[edit] Story
VERSION 1 - Bruce Irvin had become the heavy-weight champion for five years before he entered the second tournament. People say that his ferocity and temper are stemmed from the fact that his family was killed at an early age.
Being left on the streets to survive on his own, he had to fight on a daily basis in order to do so. In that, he educated himself how to put his victims through excruciating pain and earned a bit of money competing in pit fights.
VERSION 2 - When Bruce was an infant, he lived in a poor neighborhood with his parents and older brother. They were always hungry and exposed to violence. Bruce strived to get out of that living situation and aimed to live a rich and prosperous life in the police force. He entered the tournament to gain respect and popularity as the #1 champion...

[edit] Ending Animation
The camera approaches Bruce, whose back is facing the screen. Bruce turns around and throws many punches and a couple of kicks. Bruce Irvin, famous within the personal guard of Kazuya Mishima.
21 years earlier, Kazuya was defeated by his father, and Bruce decided to leave Kazuya's group of mercenaries. Bruce traveled the globe working as a mercenary for various organizations.
One day, Bruce learned that Kazuya, who he thought to be dead, had fought in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4. He also learned that the Mishima Zaibatsu, without Heihachi Mishima, was scheduled to hold The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.
Bruce, who had survived countless conflicts on battlefields across the globe, sensed something sinister about the tournament, but at the same time felt a rush of excitement. He had grown bored in recent times and it looked as though the Mishima Zaibatsu was about to provide some entertainment.
[edit] Interludes
Stage 4: Steve Fox
Steve tells Bruce to go home because of his age but Bruce tells Steve to respect his elders. After Bruce defeats Steve, Bruce says, "You're lucky I didn't break your arm, kid!", then he wonders where Kazuya might be.
Stage 7: Kazuya Mishima
Bruce tells Kazuya that unlike 20 years ago, they're now equals. Kazuya disagrees. When Bruce wins the fight, he says that he was gonna go along with the Zaibatsu's charade, but notes that "this is pathetic."
Final Stage: Jinpachi Mishima
Bruce walks through Final Stage 2. Jinpachi (in human form) walks up behind him and says, "I'm impressed that you've made it this far." (Bruce turns around hearing Jinpachi's voice) "I am Jinpachi Mishima. My goal... My goal is to destroy all existence!" After he finishes speaking, Jinpachi transforms into his "Devil" form.
