Jack X?[edit]

Since Street Fighter x Tekken introduced a Jack called Jack X does that mean we have to make a new page for him or do we add his info onto Jack 6?-User:toilethead101

A new article is in order, since it is explicitly referred to as a new model in the game. I've already got the article up: JACK-X.

It's time to set the record straight after nearly 20 years. Like Sheng Long of Street Fighter fame, "Dragon Fighting Jack" is merely a mistranslation of text taken literally as a character's whole name, most likely from text underneath the image (which may well have been in Japanese, to add to confusion). It is confirmed that this name has been taken from a pre-release screenshot simply titled "Dragon Fighting Jack". This screenshot depicts "Dragon", known later as Marshall Law, performing a high flip kick against Jack on the Chicago stage back when the game was still called Rave War. As it stands, this same screenshot happens to also appear on an early flyer for this game, alongside a screenshot of the character select screen, as well as Nina fighting King on the Acropolis stage (also, "Nina Fighting King" - despite her utterly broken flip kick and unblockable head kick combo, Nina could not be called a "king" for obvious reasons). The flyer where these images were reprinted is part of the same flyer set which depicts a CG image of Paul next to a Tekken arcade cabinet; the second page depicts an all-yellow outfitted "Dragon" (lacking decals on his tracksuit, which were all added once his name was officially changed to Marshall Law) along with Kazuya, and the three aforementioned screenshots.

As for the unknown blue character who is partially hidden on another artwork image and named "Dragon Fighting Jack" by the Tekken community, this is in fact just Prototype Jack. On the original artwork, the eight boss characters (excluding Heihachi) were depicted underneath the eight default characters; P.Jack happened to be at the highest position of all eight boss characters, whilst the other characters were quite low down across the bottom of the artwork. However, it appears that some images were cut or altered to show the default characters only; on this updated artwork (particularly the CD covers of the PlayStation versions), P.Jack's head can still be seen on the image underneath King on this version, however is has a bluish shade rather than the standard Jack skin tone. It is also worthy to note that this particular artwork was also digitally repainted for the PlayStation version; Law's signature yellow outfit on the arcade version was replaced with his new yellow and black outfit.

Can you explain this "Dragon Fighting Jack" for me since I haven't been here long enough to know what it is. Toilethead101 07:49 19 February 2013 (PHT)
