Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts

Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts (風間流古武術 Kazama-ryuu Kobujutsu), known earlier in the English version of the series as Kazama-Style Self Defence, is a fighting style created and primarely used by the Kazama family. The fighting style encorporates traditional Japanese martial arts such as Aiki-Jujitsu or Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu (primarily), Aikido, Judo, and Karate.
During the Tekken series, only four people are directly stated as practicing Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts:
- Jun Kazama, who is the first playable character to use it (Tekken 2, Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken Tag Tournament 2).
- Asuka Kazama, who takes over Jun's "mantle" as a playable character in Tekken 5 and onwards. Although she practices the Kazama style, Asuka has distinctly different movements.
- Asuka's father, who is only heard of during the storyline, owns a dojo and teaches Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts to his students and his daughter.
- Jin Kazama, who was taught by his mother, uses a fighting style that is a mix of Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts and Mishima Style Fighting Karate in Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament. He later stops using this fighting style, taking up traditional karate instead, but his former fighting style is still used by his demonic self, Devil Jin, from Tekken 5 and onwards.
