I just can't wait for this movie to come out. The other film just sucked. I hope it is not like that one. I am actually sure it won't

Changed your topic title to 'excited', I don't think you meant to be 'exited' by the movie, unless it's going to be that bad that you'd exit half way through!

It's usually what happens with live-action movies though, if Street Fighter The Movie and Mortal Kombat (1995) are to go by.

I haven't seen the Tekken (live action) movie yet, so I can't really comment on it. Going by a few pictures of the Tekken movie, they didn't seem to really look for people who resembled their in-game counterparts. I think the one who stood out the most was Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, he didn't even look like Heihachi in the slightest. I mean, they didn't even bother adding the number one identifying point of Heihachi, the hair! Jon Foo didn't look like Jin either.

All I can say is, when animating CG-rendered characters, CG really is the only way to go, and cartoon/manga/anime style really does not cut it with Tekken - this game was designed with realism in mind (and later, a touch of fantasy with supernatural beings). Whoever creates the CG endings for the Tekken series should be in charge of production, I would hate to see another franchise end up 'completely wrong' on the big screen by some 'professional' in the film industry who makes it end up looking nothing like the game. I want to see some fights, actual Tekken moves instead of generic 'Karate' moves, as well as a decent storyline which actually follows the game series, rather than just having Tekken characters shoved into a random 'good guy vs. bad guy' action/fighting film in the way Street Fighter was. Raul Julia will always be remembered as Bison though. :)

Sorry to interrupt, but let me make a small point about the Tekken OVA since it's getting negative comments. Yes, the English version sucked because well...it was in English. English dubs and translations were mostly horrible before the late 90s. If you actually take the time to watch the original Japanese OVA, then you'll see it's actually a decent portrayal Tekken. [I had it on tape and I'm not sure if you'll find that version on YouTube though since it's an unrealible site relating to movies and anime]

Another thing: do NOT watch the live action movie. It is definitely NOT worth it except seeing Jin as a better person for once. My friends and I nearly ripped our hairs out. Literally. Any Tekken fan can say the movie is horrible. Especially the Nina, Kazuya, and Heihachi portrayals. So yeah, don't bother.

As for this movie, it's nice that it's finally in CGI. BUT, as I can see, they've only added their "popular" characters as usual and ignored the other 50 something character's existence. Which is what I complain about a lot. If they do add some unrecognized characters and not make them "Big Bad" or "Evil Minion" [Look them up on TV Tropes, the best site ever], I will be on board for this movie though I'll still be slightly irratated since Alisa's in there.

I'm pretty sure the movie will be good since it is directed by Youichi Mouri, who directed the opening cinematics for Tekken 5 and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

I haven't seen the previous film yet. My brother got me the DVD for my birthday. My birthday was two months ago.

Oh! Belated happy birthday. Hope you had a great time :D. As for the movie, I feel it might get messed up somewhere since Namco is already making SF X T, T X SF and TT2. Now if they start work on this, there maybe some confusion and everything might probably go wrong.

I loved this movie but Xiayou and Alisa were a bit annoying. I'mma give it 9/10 --Devilster910 (talk) 10:42, 1 April 2013 (CEST)
