Tekken 3[edit]
Hwoarang made is debut in Tekken 3 and had two selectable outfits, as with other characters in the game.
- Hwoarang's player 1 outfit shows him wearing a white, long sleeved taekwondo dobok with a black stripe along the seams, with matching pants and bandanna, and a black belt. He also sports fingerless blue gloves and blue footpads that expose his heels and toes. His name is printed on the back of the shirt. Hwoarang has red dyed shoulder length hair parted down the middle.
- Hwoarang's player 2 outfit shows him wearing a blue tank top with a design on the back, green jeans with black chaps, black fingerless gloves, a black leather belt and cowboy boots complete with spurs. He is also wearing motorcycle goggles which are pushed up out of the way. His hair has been brushed back since the goggles would stop it from returning to its natural position.
Tekken Tag Tournament[edit]
In Tekken Tag Tournament, Hwoarang's outfits remained unchanged from Tekken 3, however he also received two extra palette-swapped outfits based on his two outfits from Tekken 3.
Player 1 Outfit: His Uniform is Light Blue instead of white. His hair is also noticeably lighter.
Player 2 Outfit: His Tank top is white instead of Gray,and His chaps are blue instead of Dark Green. Like his Player 1 Outfit, his hair is lighter.

Player 4 Outfit: (See Tekken 3 Player 2 Outfit.)
Tekken 4[edit]
In Tekken 4, Hwoarang received two all new outfits, replacing the ones in the earlier games.
Player 1 outfit:Hwoarang's new player 1 outfit is still a white taekwondo dobok, but it now consists of a sleeveless shirt with blue outlines and a taegeuk on the left side of the chest, with a red eagle/flame design on the back referring to his Blood Talon nickname. His pants are the same design as his shirt and also feature a red design on his right leg. He has a black belt with his name printed on it and a taegeuk matching his shirt. He has blue fingerless gloves with a blue design and some writing on them, and wears black sneakers instead of blue footguards. His hair is unchanged from Tekken 3, however he is no longer wearing the bandanna.
Player 2 outfit:Hwoarang's new player 2 outfit consists of the uniform he wore when he fled from the South Korean Army. Since being in the army, he also had to cut his hair and is seen with short spiked hair in place of his usual long hair. His army outfit consists of a green short-sleeved t-shirt, green (woodland) camouflage pants, green fingerless gloves, body armour, light green knee pads, and black footwear.
Tekken 5[edit]
Tekken 5 saw Hwoarang returned to the outfits he wore in Tekken 3 with minor changes. Note that starting with Tekken 5, players are now given the option to customize their character's appearance at the cost of prize money won from fighting.
- Hwoarang's player 1 outfit is identical that of Tekken 3, with the addition of the eagle design from Tekken 4 on the back, the Korean flag on his chest and his blue gloves now have a taegeuk on them. His belt is similar to that from Tekken 4.
- Hwoarang's new player 2 outfit has also returned to his Tekken 3 style, but it now consists of a green and orange vest zipped up with the same design on the back as Tekken 3, blue jeans with black leather chaps along the sides with seven leather straps tied to each leg. He also wears a brown leather belt with a large buckle, black leather fingerless gloves, and orange steel-capped cowboy boots with spurs.
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection[edit]
In Dark Resurrection, Hwoarang receives a minor palette swapped outfit change for both outfits in a similar way to Tekken Tag Tournament.
His dobok and headband changed to blue and his gloves and footguards changes to red. In his P2, Hwoarang wears yellow vest and chaps and black boots.
Tekken 6/Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion[edit]
Hwoarang wears the original outfits he wore in Tekken 5 with updates. They remain unchanged from Tekken 6 in Bloodline Rebellion.
Player 1 Outfit: (See Tekken 5 Player 1 Outfit.)
Player 2 Outfit: His new Player 2 Outfit consists of Light Brown and green leather vest with a design on the back and a buckle at his collar, necklace with a skull and star pendant, orange-lensed motorcycle goggles on forehead, brown leather fingerless gloves, blue belted jeans with a big silver buckle, brown leather chaps wirh orange flame-like designs and dark brown steel-capped leather cowboy boots with spurs.
Tekken 7[edit]
Player 1 Outfit: His outfit, instead of the standard dobok, has now been replaced with his Player Two biker outfits. The design of his biker outfit is still the same as that of Tekken 6, but colored the same way as his Tekekn 5 outfit.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2[edit]
(Note: His taekwondo dobok can be unlocked in the customization menu from winning gold panels in ghost battles)
Player 1 Outfit: (See Tekken 6 Player 2 outfit.)
Player 2 Outfit: The same as his Player One Outfit but colored as the Player 2 Outfit from Tekken 5.
