Suggestions[edit]
Might I suggest that character info to be chronological, from earliest to latest appearences, rather than the current reversed chronological order. Apart from being more logical, it also makes it easier for people to read, as they won't have to go to the bottom, scroll down while reading, scroll up to the former section, scroll down while reading, scroll up, etc.
Also all characters should have "first name" "last name" title, e.g. "Paul Phoenix", as having some of them in reverse order, e.g. "Phoenix, Paul" seems illogical from a searching point of view (that, and it just looks stupid, i.e. "Jack, Gun").
Also, I have some experience in running a Wiki, so if you need any help at all, let me know. --Hecko 16:04, 21 November 2006 (CST)
- All good suggestions, I have thought about reversing the character info and this will most likely happen when I add the information for Tekken 6.
- Category pages are fixed alphabetical order, so I've named pages based on what I think people are likely to be searching for them on. E.g, "Jack" has always referred to the jack character in Tekken, regardless if it's Gun Jack, Jack-5 etc. Likewise with "Law", however Paul is always referred to by his first name. The naming structure of the pages (and what appears in "Playable Characters" category) reflects this schema.
- I'm gonna go ahead an move "Jack, Gun" to "Gun Jack" to show you how to solve the category problem, by having a "logical" title while still having him listed under "J" for Jack. If you don't like it the new solution, let me know and I'll revert it again. --Hecko 17:24, 21 November 2006 (CST)
- Yes, make sense, I can see how you've moved them, so I'll update the others that fall into the same situation (The Laws). Samuel 17:32, 21 November 2006 (CST)
- Updated those and it does read alot better. I'll leave the chronological order to the next big update that I do (as it will take a few days of I suspect :D ) Samuel 17:45, 21 November 2006 (CST)
- No worries ^_^ If you need help with anything else, let me know, e.g. with setting stuff up in the character pages or just cleaning up around here, let me know. I also have some other ideas I would like to discuss with you, but it'll have to wait, since I don't want to seem to pushy. --Hecko 18:34, 21 November 2006 (CST)

Hello world. returns to Tekkenpedia - MARCH 2007. --86.144.154.240 10:52, 25 February 2007 (CST)
- If it isn't my old buddy. Anyway, leave it until March 5th ok? I'm on holiday in Thailand from today and I don't really want to be sitting in an internet cafe dealing with your mess.
Thanks.[edit]
I meant to do this earlier. Thanks for mentioning me (as well as Hecko X) on the Main Page. Working on articles and uploading images are both not problems for me. I'll keep on working on articles and uploading necessary images. JunKazamaFan 19:42, 6 April 2007 (CDT)
- Well, hot diggety, would you look at that? I honestly didn't notice until just now. Thanks and all, but would you mind removing my name? I'm not keen on unsuspected attention as I'm used to working "behind the scenes". I appreciate the gesture though. And on a sidenote, there's no underscore in my name. --Hecko 20:55, 6 April 2007 (CDT)
- Okay, I corrected the "underscore" part. JunKazamaFan 21:43, 6 April 2007 (CDT)
Other Mishima[edit]
When i was on the wikipedia I noticed that there is another Mishima, Ken "God Hand" Mishima from Enrgeiz, and i was wondering if an article is needed/can be made for the Mishimas in general or for Ken. It's weird to say but i'm kinda only been editing for the first time this week so I have learned most editing, but i'm not sure on page formatting and stuff like like. Here's a link to basic information on him. [1]
- It could be worth making an entry about him but don't add him to the playable character category. I think he was a kind of homage to the Tekken series while not being part of it. Could be worth mentioning that in his article. Samuel 21:14, 8 April 2007 (CDT)
- k, i'll start trying to make an article, i only know basics so if any of the older people on this site (i was like 5 when i saw it) let me know. Nitronia 11:08 9 April 2007 (GMT)
Family Tree[edit]
here's a family tree of the tekken characters. Is it alright? it's abit cpmplex and ruff with all those arrows, do tell me, other wise it can be deleted.
- It needs work, to say the least. Minor corrections here and there, new design, etc. --Hecko 14:42, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
- yeah, it was something i just bundled together to give a basic idea but, it didn't really work, i might try making one page that has all the characters (playable and non-playable) A-Z, with there relationship to each character, but the character it's referring to (for example "Heihachi--->Kazuya's father) it will link to there section on the page, does this sound alright?
oh my the way sameal i sent a error message about the tekken 6 article but i realise what happened now, i was trying to update when Hecko was lol Nitronia 21:00 10th April 2007 (GMT)
- Yeah, I agree with Hecko X. This is a good idea, but it needs work. JunKazamaFan 15:37, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
- I've been thinking about adding family trees for a while but couldn't find any good templates on the Wikipedia site. The problem with a graphical template is that it will need to be updated with every revision of Tekken, if only one person has the template then it will rely on them to look after it. A generic Wikipedia family tree template would work better.
- Something else to think about, how about individual family trees? One for the mishimas, one for the Williams etc. Also with the big character relationships tree above, we need to display what the actual relationship is between the characters. Samuel 19:15, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
- If you can find a way to incorporate flash (.swf files) into a wiki, then I have... ideas... --Hecko 15:11, 12 April 2007 (CDT)
- Ok, I'll have a look around today at what plugins/options are available. I think adding a new dynamic character relationships page based on what Nitronia has created earlier as well as an inline "Family Tree" added to the character pages should cover all the bases.

the 'unconcious' process[edit]
Normally all the mishimas, kazamas and us have been unconcious. I am saying that we have been unconcious because i have been half unconcious in an operation. --Tekken infinty 20:12, 9th July 2007 (PDT)
Character Relations Article[edit]
Nice! I have made a word version of a family tree here, all the links should be working after clicking each one, but i named the Article "Character Relations", should it be called "Character Relationships"? if so, how do i do that? Nitronia 21:32 11th April 2007 (GMT)
- There is a rename link at the top of each page, however you may need to be a Sysop to use it. Here's what I had in mind for each of the character pages: Wikipedia Family Tree Templates. You can see the one at the bottom remains quite legable and would suit use on each of the character pages, however you cannot name the relationship so prehaps we could use that for family trees and a graphic for the total character relationships table (similar to above but with the description of the relationship between them)
- Yeah, it should be called "Character Relationships", so I moved the article. Great idea / article, Nitronia. That would be a great way to show character relationships, WikiSysop. JunKazamaFan 21:09, 11 April 2007 (CDT)
- thanks, i was also thinking, if i put character's "character select icon" or head shot etc, to the right of that character's section, i could then give a link to their profile. Being the "Characer Relationships" is the 2nd biggest page (about 10 bytes behind Heihachi, is this needed/nessesary? Nitronia 08:52 12th April 2007 (GMT)
- Samuel, the ending video of Kuma in Tekken 5 doesnt work. Check his article. Miguel 05:46, May 26 2007 (CST)
- Just tested and it's working fine for me. Sometimes they get removed from Youtube, in that case we just need to create a link to a new version of it. Samuel 05:43, 30 May 2007 (PDT)
- No, I meant Kuma the 2nd. His Tekken 5 ending isnt working. Miguel 13:18, May 28 2007 (CST)
- Hecko X just fixed that problem. It's working now. You were right. It wasn't working. I forgot to fix it because I was working on providing Tekken Tag Tournament profiles for the characters in that game. I'm sorry about that. I did fix King 2nd's Tekken 5 ending when it wasn't working, though. Let me know if there are other YouTube endings that aren't working, and I'll fix the problem. JunKazamaFan 14:04, 31 May 2007 (PDT)
- No, I meant Kuma the 2nd. His Tekken 5 ending isnt working. Miguel 13:18, May 28 2007 (CST)
- Airighty, I will. Oh yeah, i almost forgot the Asuka Kazama ending in Tekken 5, ive found a better one without any text at the bottom (the one in Asuka's article had some bug that said "blog.naver.com")http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb5Dmi9I8VY Miguel 13:08, May 29 2007 (CST)

seems this IP address and user is vandalising, and i've seen he's done it before.

can we permently ban him?
- I'm sure we can. JunKazamaFan 15:47, 18 April 2007 (CDT)
- Okay, he's been blocked with an expiry time of "infinite". JunKazamaFan 15:51, 18 April 2007 (CDT)
- I've banned him before in the past, it'll work for a while then he'll come in on a different IP. I don't know what his gig is though, I ran some of the stuff he's been typing into a machine translator and he seems to be talking about his love for Asuka?? That's not all, alex ados is on of the most popular search terms for reaching this site, so he's searching for it quite a bit. All over various other tekken forums, sites, he's been writing the same kind of thing about himself and Asuka.
- I think he is just lonely. According to him his only friend in life is Jin Kazama. He has a brother who doesn't talk to him much. His Girlfirend is Lili, but he secretly loves Asuka. And Ados, means "bunk bed" looks to me like he was just begging for attention. KingIsBest 03:01, 20 October 2007 (PDT)

24/06/07[edit]
On 24th June lots of vandals are coming on to tekkenpedia. Hecko_X and JunKazamaFan, we need you to sort this out pronto or the pages are going to get more vandalised.
- How ironic, coming from you... And did you ever consider to write it on the user talk pages of the people you are actually trying to get a hold of, rather than that of a third party? --Hecko 07:23, 24 June 2007 (PDT)

Please stop saying I HATE TEKKEN AND IT'S CREATORS, If you dont like tekken, dont come on here anymore.
UNITEKKEN[edit]
User:UNITEKKEN is a complete expert on tekken. He also said that Kuma/Panda is comfirmed in Tekken 6 and knows one character in Tekken 7
- UNITEKKEN is getting ban on the Tekkenpedia if he keeps making new pages about himself... Samuel 03:59, 4 July 2007 (PDT)
Moving Image Articles[edit]
Is there a way to move (rename) an Image article (eg. Image:Yoshimitsu_t5.jpg) like any other normal article? I've noticed that the file list could do with some structure and I'd be willing to organise it. The alternative would be, of course, to upload and delete which would help develop RSI (not a good thing) >_> Qwerty 02:12, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

Request for a shout page[edit]
hi, this is Nitronia i havn't been on for awhile but looking through i was wondering if a "shout" page can be added. This would be used, for example, getting a message to all users instead od just one, visitors and users and visitors can sugest changes to articles, or just say what hey think of the website. I feel it be best to put a link to it on the main page, but i'm unable to edit the main page (as any news of a new "shout" would have to be added by hand), so say if you think this is a good idea. -Nitronia 09:58 4th July 2007
Testing new installment header[edit]
Ignore this section, it is a testing area for a new "Tekken Installment" header I am creating.
It really makes sense about this, but we might need someone in Japan User:Tekken infinity
Symbols[edit]
As movelists are goning to be exspanded, is there any way to incorparate the X,O,Triangle,Square, and arrows (holds) as symbols if pictures can be found?( so they can be implamented as letters). i feel this will be easier then huge type outs or the acrade controls- Nitronia 12:33 5th July 2007 GMT
- If you check out the Wang Jinrei page then you can get a preview of how I think the move-lists will work, I still need to experiment with creating some templates etc for them. I think we'll stick to the normal arcade style format as that's what most people are used to, although there is no reason why we can't use both side by side. As for the symbols, if you can find some suitable ones on a white or transparent background then I'll be happy to post them up. Samuel 04:43, 5 July 2007 (PDT)
- here i have added the buttons;
I wasn't able to get the Black and White arrows so i'll have to make those on paint, but i'll put them here when i have. -Nitronia 13:16 4th July 2007 GMT
- I've now added the Hold buttons;
Once i've made the tap buttons and the star (pause) button i'll try and reconfigure wang's move list to a table with headings "Arcade version" and "Console version", but if this can be done before i finish that would be great. -Nitronia 14:03 5th July 2007 GMT
- I've made the tap buttons, but err these made be hold i think i got them the wrong way round can a admin check and rename if they are wrong please.
Also this symbol does nicely for the star (pause) sign, * , that should be all the buttons! please tell me if i got them the wrong way around -Nitronia 14:44 5th July 2007 GMT
- I like the direction arrows, the PS2 style buttons need a bit of cleaning up though. I'll have a look around and see what I can find. We should also make the button size and arrow size about the same. Samuel 17:44, 5 July 2007 (PDT)
- Hmm they should be about the same size, if not only 2-4 pixels out, i'll try them on wang's moves to see how they look, also i've made this, Template:Moves List, tell me what you think.
- I like the direction arrows, the PS2 style buttons need a bit of cleaning up though. I'll have a look around and see what I can find. We should also make the button size and arrow size about the same. Samuel 17:44, 5 July 2007 (PDT)
Captcha[edit]
I think it should be taken off because it will make it easier for people to update the site. About the spam bots posting advertising and the hacking attacks, I'll keep an eye on the site and remove this stuff if it gets added to the site. If it gets too serious, then the captcha should be put back in. JunKazamaFan 13:05, 15 July 2007 (PDT)
- I'll look into removing it over the next few days. I'll upgrade the site to the latest version of media wiki and I Think that has some good anti spam filters built into it. 203.214.102.172 16:34, 15 July 2007 (PDT)

How do you make new sections when creating a move list? Have a look at Kazuya's Tekken 5 movelist, I can't get a section after throws!
- I'm about to overhaul the way the move list pages are setup, I should hopefully have something up in the next few days.. hold on until then :) Samuel 01:29, 11 September 2007 (PDT)
Oops, poor attention to detail, I should have it under control again. Sorry :(
I'm actually working on it right now, you can see the work in progress here User_talk:WikiSysop/Sample_Wang_Move_List Samuel 19:37, 11 September 2007 (PDT)
Should I stop what I am doing then?
- Well, I'm not entirely happy with the way that page is going to look based on what I've been doing so I'd keep going with what you're doing. The trouble I'm having is that alongside all the moves I also want to allow people to leave comments and stratergy about the moves themselves, I'm having trouble figuring out a good way of doing this though. It doesn't seem to work on the page (see example above) and it does seem to work by linking to pages. I'd keep going with what you're doing as it will be great to get all the move list detail up, then we can figure out how to let people discuss particular moves.
O.K. no problem
Hey, I don't suppose you know how to allow cookies?
- I get the same error message when logging in, Cookies are getting set so I'm not sure why it's reporting it. Check your browsers preferences to make sure cookies are enabled.
From what I can see I am no longer an anonymous user. KingIsBest 12 September.
Me again, what should I class "ultimate tackle" as? KingIsBest 11:57 13 September.
- I'd check with TekkenZaibatsu, but I think it's classed as a multi throw.
They class throws, ultimate tackles and mounts as "grappling arts". Should I put it in the throws section? My apologies for interrupting you so often!
- Put it in the throws section. Because this is a wiki I would go with your best judgment in where to put things, if they're incorrect or someone feels that it's incorrect, then they'll fix it up.

The "Feng's Master" Article[edit]
Thank you for removing the title "Mr. Rochefort" and replacing it with "Fengs Master" on the "Feng's Master" article (in the Infobox). I'm sorry about that. I was doing a "copy and paste" on the "Non-playable Characters" Infobox, changing the information while doing so. I was trying to get as many done before I went to sleep. I did the same thing with the "Baek's father" article. I noticed that one, though ([2]). So, I'm sorry about that mistake of mine that you fixed. Thanks for fixing it! JunKazamaFan 10:06, 24 October 2007 (PDT)
- No problem. The next move I want to make with the site is to get a good strategy guide online for each character. I've been in touch with a few of the FAQ authors of game FAQs to get permission to load their FAQs onto the site, from there they can be edited and adapted by the readers/editors. I'll be adding a new link to the Tekken Installment header soon. Samuel 16:22, 24 October 2007 (PDT)
- Okay. I'm glad to hear this! Good ideas! JunKazamaFan 16:38, 24 October 2007 (PDT)
- No problem. The next move I want to make with the site is to get a good strategy guide online for each character. Scaling YouTube videos[edit]
If you would add the function allowing one to scale YouTube videos by writing <youtube width="xxx">video id</youtube>, replacing "xxx" with the size, then that would be super-duper swell. --Hecko 07:04, 30 October 2007 (PDT)
- I used a plug in for the you tube videos, I'll take a look at it and see if I can adapt it to accept a width and keep the same aspect ratio. Samuel 14:58, 30 October 2007 (PDT)
- Ok, I've added a new plugin for embedding video, example embed code below
Instructions on using the plug-in are here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EmbedVideo
A 'What to do sheet[edit]
Instead of people saying what to do on their account, we should make a page to tell what to do.

New logo[edit]
Hi, just signed up. I am an ardent Tekken fan and would love to see this Wiki improve.
As a little gift, I decided to create a new logo for the site, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the thumbnail. Why does the background turn black when the image is not viewed at full size? Here's a link: Image:Tekkenpedia_logo.png. --Yenemus 07:08, 3 November 2007 (PDT)
- I created a modified version.
- It is resized and has the correct grey background - Image:Tekkenpedia Logo-grey background.png. --Yenemus 04:29, 21 November 2007 (PST)
Hi. This is JinKazamaFan speking. i know a perfect logo for the tekkenpedia website. Though I can't show you now because I didn't make it yet, and i'm not a good drawer, so I will try to make it if i can. --JinKazamaFan 1:47, 21 November 2007 (PST)
- @Yenemus, you'd have more luck simply resizing the original image without the background. --Hecko 12:17, 21 November 2007 (PST)
Gallery proposal[edit]
Hi. Having browsed around this Wiki a little, I've noticed that a lot of the pages are full of YouTube videos. I think this severely reduces the quality of the pages, and makes it hard to navigate around the page. Also, having an indivisual gallery for every character's appearance in each game seems a little unnecessary. To solve both of these problems, I propose a "Character Name/Gallery" system, where all media related to the character is found in a single article. As an example, I created an Eddy Gordo/Gallery page. Thoughts? --Yenemus 04:10, 4 November 2007 (PST)
- I second this (in terms of putting all images in one gallery subpage), though I feel that the videos should remain where there are, because once the scaling of youtube videos gets implemented *cough cough hint hint* we can scale them down to 1/3 of the size, plus use videos in all the secret move pages. --Hecko 12:58, 24 November 2007 (PST)
- Sounds good, Hecko do you want to look at maybe adapting the Tekken Install template to be a header for each each character?
- Sure, no worries. --Hecko 02:32, 25 November 2007 (PST)

Ken mishima gone?![edit]
Hi this is Nitronia, sorry i ain't been on for a while, but i noticed, none of the Youtube vids are working, like the the tekken 6 page, and the Ken Mishima page is missing, yet no decussion has suggested it was to or has been deleted, has the site been attacked? Nitronia 18:48 21 November 2007 (GMT)
- The Ken Mishima article was deleted because he had nothing to do with Tekken. As for the YouTube videos, who knows what happened? A coding screw-up somewhere, perhaps? --Hecko 12:19, 21 November 2007 (PST)
YouTube Videos[edit]
Hello. I want to bring it to your attention that the YouTube videos of things such as endings / epilogues and interludes are no longer showing. I'll show you a video to show you what I mean. This video is of Jin Kazama's Tekken 3 ending. Here it is:
<youtube>JOB3O-4TTLk</youtube>
As you can see, only the code is visible now. Why is this happening, and can it be fixed? I should have brought this up earlier, but I have been too busy to do so. JunKazamaFan 00:06, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- I accidently overwrote the localsettings.php file last night with the original version that is installed with MediaWiki, this disabled youtube videos and a couple of other functions (file uploads). File uploads I restored quickly but I didn't notice the YouTube videos being down, they should all be working now. Samuel 01:06, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- Oh, I see. Okay. Thank you for answering me, thank you for fixing this, and thank you for fixing the file upload feature! JunKazamaFan 01:18, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- All right. I've readded the YouTube videos that I removed when they weren't working. JunKazamaFan 02:39, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- Good work man! Next time just give me a message or an email, chances are it's something I've stuffed up :) Samuel 03:49, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- While we're on the subject, how's the scaling of videos coming along? --Hecko 07:43, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- To WikiSysop / Samuel: Thank you! No problem! Okay. I'll remember this. Ah, I see. To Hecko X: Yes, how is that coming along? JunKazamaFan 12:57, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- I'm going to look at installing a more up to date version of the YouTube plugin that will allow video scaling, both the new extension and the existing YouTube extension will work alongside each other. 59.167.78.140 14:20, 22 November 2007 (PST)

Anon page creation[edit]
|
- I agree, I'm looking into the settings for it now. Samuel 19:17, 3 January 2008 (PST)
- Ok, I've disabled page creation for users that are not logged in, they can still edit normal pages and create/edit talk pages. Let's see if that curbs the vandalism/spam a bit. If it gets really bad I can reimplement a captcha on the site for users that are not logged in, that will clear up 99% of the spam. Samuel 19:36, 3 January 2008 (PST)

- The change I've implemented has just stopped anon users from creating new pages, it's not going to stop anon users from inserting or deleting content on existing pages. I'm going to keep a close eye on things and setup a captcha image verification for anon users, if it starts to esculate then I'll enable it until the spamming dies down. If things get out of control (I'm going to be out for the next 5 or 6 hours) then send me a text (international) on +61 405 472 748 and I'll remote in and enable the captcha / disable edits for anon users. Samuel 21:34, 3 January 2008 (PST)
- Captcha implemented, it should prevent just about all of the attacks we've been suffering, see the news update on the front page for information about how it works. Thanks, Samuel 22:12, 3 January 2008 (PST)

MartialWiki[edit]
Hey, Sam, I didn't know you made a martial arts wiki. Its still in its early stages I see. I'll try and contribute with as much as i know. :) TekkenMishimaForce 12:38, 29 September 2008 (UTC) aka MitsurugiFan from the Soulpedia.
