The Tekken Force, called Tekkenshu in the Japanese version of Tekken, is a private corporate army in the Tekken fighting game series.
BackgroundEdit
The Tekken Force was created by Heihachi Mishima after The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2 when Kazuya Mishima was killed and thrown into a volcano. The ranks of the soldiers take after the names of raptors, from lowest to highest rank being Crow, Falcon, Hawk, and Owl, respectively.
Heihachi dispatches the Tekken Force all over the world to quell small skirmishes in foreign countries in order to gain public approval and hide his true intentions for world conquest. Heihachi seems to actually care about their lives, as it is said that he "mourned" the loss of an entire squadron that he sent to investigate the ruins that once held Ogre.
The Tekken Force members are opponents in the Tekken Force side games in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4. They are also opponents in Death by Degrees during the "Solitaria Penitentiary" parts of the game. Enrique Ortega hired the Tekken Force to protect himself.
Unit HistoryEdit
In the conclusion of the second King of Iron Fist Tournament, Heihachi Mishima formed the Tekken Force to carry out secret undercover missions. These missions included things such as researching areas, kidnapping people and raiding areas. Though they were seemingly sent out to help quell the various wars throughout the world, the real purpose of the Tekken Force was to provide Heihachi with a necessary fighting force, for his plans of world conquest.
Though the Tekken Force was successful in most missions, one single mission, caused an extreme amount of losses. This mission in particular, was the research of Ogre, in which the said target attacked and decimated an entire unit of Tekken Force. Later these members would help Heihachi perform underhanded tasks such as gunning down Jin Kazama in his Tekken 3 ending.
The next major operation undertaken by these members were the raids of G Corporation's Nebraska and Nepal. Met with success in Nepal that was nearly never seen in Nebraska, the Tekken Force successfully took data from G Corporation's facilities. Julia Chang's Forest Rejuvenation Data being one of the most critical pieces that Doctor Abel needed for his GENOCELL project to infuse the Devil Gene with regular humans, was also claimed in the process. The failure of Nebraska however, was particularly caused by the sudden appearance of Kazuya Mishima, resulting in the deaths of the raiding party.
Another time these members would be seen was near the end of the fourth tournament. While on his way to fight Kazuya, Jin was ambushed by the Tekken Force. Although he brought down scores of them, Jin was eventually overpowered and captured to the Hon-Maru by the soliders.
The next time these members would be seen was after the conclusion of the fifth tournament. Jin Kazama, the new head of the Mishima Zaibatsu, ordered the Tekken Force to invade numerous parts of the world. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Tekken Force met relative success in their undertakings, until the intervention of G Corporation, now led by Kazuya. Unknown to Jin was the fact that some Tekken Force members had actually deserted the main bulk of the army. These members, under the leadership of Lars Alexandersson, formed the rebel organization of Ygdrassil, a force independent from the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation.
RankingEdit
The rankings of the Tekken Force are all typically named after various types of birds, though there are special exceptions to rank names and uniform.
The following are the ranks of the Tekken Force in descending order as of Tekken 3 and 4:
Owl
Hawk
Falcon
Crow
During Jin's term as the Mishima Zaibatsu's head, it is unknown if these ranks continued to exist, but a new system was made, as well as a uniform code for different members, which was first seen in Tekken 4's Tekken Force mode. The main difference, however, is that Tekken 4's members had varying degrees of strengths, and no single color was affiliated with a specific rank. Interestingly, the Tekken Force members also have dog tags akin to real life soldiers.
Red Uniform: These members usually wear the standard black and red uniform armor given to regular Tekken Force members. Red Uniforms are considered as the lowest ranking members of the Tekken Force, comprising as the army's main bulk.
Blue, Green and Black Uniforms: These members, though not as skilled as commanders, are still more adept and skilled in operations compared to their regular red uniformed counterparts. These members are usually joined by the red uniforms at the front lines of combat. They wear the same armor as the regular Tekken force member, but have it in shades of black, green and blue.
White Uniform: These members comprise of the Tekken Force's female members. Unlike the Red and Blue uniformed, White uniforms usually focus on internal security, protecting key people such as commanders, key locations to the main base of the Mishima Zaibatsu and protecting vital areas in the rear of the army. A distinguishing note that differentiates these members from the others is that they solely rely on a gun in Tekken 6. During Tekken 4, however, these members were able to fight with martial arts, like the rest of their allies.
Commanders: Commanders are basically distinguished by having the standard regular red uniform, but a surprising note is that these members usually have no helmet when fighting. These members basically are present in the heart of the fighting, often leading troops to the front. Before they left, Eddy Gordo and Nina Williams are considered as the Grand Commanders of all the Tekken Force, second only to Jin. An interesting note was that Commanders could also make customizations to their own armor, or not even wear it at all. Both Eddy and Nina did not wear their Tekken Force armor in the game (Though there is a brief picture of Eddy wearing the standard armor without the helmet.), while Lars has a cape attached to his armor.
Scouts: Though scouts are actually considered as a subgroup under the Red Uniforms (also wearing the same uniform), a main thing to point out is that these scouts have a camcorder mounted on their helmet. These were used typically in search operations in order to give higher ranking officers a feel of the searched area. Heihachi had actually used these scouts during the raids of Nebraska and Nepal. Jin had also used these scouts to find Ryu from Street Fighter during the non-canon Street Fighter X Tekken trailer.
Skills and WeaponryEdit
Despite being under private organization, the Tekken Force is surprisingly well-armed and is more akin to military organization rather than something meant for personal security. Each member typically carries a submachine gun which is around only the size of their hand to elbow. They also carry a knife like standard military units. Despite these, the Tekken Force also has access to higher grade military weapons such as rifles, explosives and rocket launchers. Additionally, they are also in possession of military vehicles such as Armored trucks and tanks or choppers and jets. A noteworthy thing is that Tougou, who ranked as a commander, carried a sword with him. It is unknown if this sword was a standard issue to commanders or if this was simply just a customization that Tougou had made.
Nonetheless, despite all these technological advances, close combat is where the Tekken Force truly excel in. With each member being trained in a unique martial art, the Tekken Force is able to fight like advanced fighters, being able to perform backflips and being able to move away from the line of fire relatively quickly. A major note is that not all the members have been trained in this martial art such as both Eddy and Nina, who were trained in Capoeira and Koppo respectively.
