Steve Fox was introduced in Tekken 4, and he has returned for all subsequent titles. He is the son of Nina Williams, who unknowingly had Steve while she was taking part in Doctor Boskonovitch's cold sleep project. Steve found out during the Fourth Tournament that he was going to be assassinated by Nina; fortunately, this did not happen. He entered the Fifth Tournament to "settle the score" with the Mishima Zaibatsu. As of Tekken 6, Steve is training and teaming up with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law. His father's identity remains a mystery.

PAGENAME (スティーブ・フォックス Sutību Fokkusu) was introduced in Tekken 4, and he has returned for all subsequent titles. He is the son of Nina Williams, who unknowingly had Steve while she was taking part in Doctor Bosconovitch's cold sleep project. Steve found out during the Fourth Tournament that he was going to be assassinated by Nina; fortunately, this did not happen. He entered the Fifth Tournament to "settle the score" with the Mishima Zaibatsu. In Tekken 6, Steve is training and teaming up with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law. His father's identity remains a mystery.

Steve is basically a level-headed person who enjoys a straight and clean fight, and shows great hate for those who interfere. He's also wants competitors and other fighters to have proper fights as shown by his anger when Marduk interrupted a boxing match in his Tekken 5 ending. In terms of gameplay Steve is surprisingly an excellent poker, this is mainly attributed to the fact that he has quick and easy access to his stances like Ducking, Flicker Stance or Peekabo. He's also at the same time one of the hardest characters to learn as precise timing is necessary for him to actually go into the stance. Like Hwoarang, he focuses on a single type of attack, to punch. This has led to people spamming his punch buttons though people are less successful as Steve also requires the movement buttons or joystick to go into his different stances. He shows a great deal of hate for the Mishima Zaibatsu mainly because he was a test subject from one of their experiments, hinting that the Mishima Zaibatsu may have been the reason to Nina's pregnancy to Steve. Steve can also be extremely trusting to people even to those who he doesn't know with the prime examples of Paul Phoenix and Nina Williams.
+
Steve's past is shrouded in mystery, with the only link being his ending in the non-canon Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The only link to his past was supposedly Emma Kliesen, a Mishima Zaibatsu scientist and advisor to the company's Devil Gene project. Through her dialogue, it can be assumed that it was Emma who brought Steve to the Zaibatsu, but quickly regretted the decision due to the experiments that followed soon after. It was through this that Emma would be Steve's mother figure, and it was through her, that he managed to escape, thanks to the false report of his death. Pushing through without Emma, Steve would become one of the world's best boxing champions. However, this would also cause him to become a target by a Mafia when he refused to throw a fight. His elusiveness eventually forced the Mafia to hire his biological mother, Nina Williams, to kill Steve. With the help of Interpol officer, Lei Wulong, Steve was able to pinpoint Nina Williams as his biological mother, though no information was given regarding his father, through the Mishima Zaibatsu database. He also read that he was once an experimented on by the Zaibatsu, causing him to destroy the said company's labs. The Zaibatsu, however, would continue to cause problems for Steve, as their new World War, would cause the cancelation of sporting events, including boxing. Stripped of his only means of training and income, Steve had wandered aimlessly before receiving a training invitation from both Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law. With new vigor and an opportunity to gain new knowledge, Steve set out once more...

Typically level-headed and cool, Steve always fought for both skill and the further improve himself. This would immediately show his high anger and disregard if ever anyone would decide to interrupt any of Steve's matches. He also shows respect to other fighters who fight strongly, as shown during Marduk's Tekken 5 ending. Upon relearning his experiences regarding the Mishima Zaibatsu, Steve has grown to resent them and is determined to stop any more such plots. Together, he would soon form a kindled friendship with Lei Wulong, and the two would follow the common cause of finding more of the Zaibatsu's atrocities. Among all of this, his relationship with his biological mother, Nina Williams, is left ambiguous throughout. Both seem to be aware of each other (Steve finding out that he was her son through the Mishima Zaibatsu, while Nina finding out through the Mafia's informant.) being family, however, Nina makes it a point not to meet Steve, while Steve is very curious in regards to Nina's behavior as well as to possibly get more information on his past from her.

Paul reminds them that they'll split the money 3 ways "just like we promised". Apparently, the Mishima Zaibatsu has placed a bomb inside one of the cases, and most probably, the bomb was intended for Steve.

Story (Official Website)
 +
 +
Steve Fox has had plenty of run-ins with the Mishima Zaibatsu, but he never gave up his search for information about his past. Though his mother's identity remained a mystery, one name, in particular, began to crop up time and again: Nina Williams.
 +
 +
Believing she knew something, Steve began investigating her whereabouts until he came up with a promising lead. The information led him to an imposing cathedral. As he considered how best to proceed, a figure appeared from inside, dressed in a tattered wedding gown.
 +
 +
It was Nina, who seemed to be running away from something. Steve told her to stop, but she ignored him and fled. Determined not to let this opportunity escape him, he blocked her path.
 +
 +
Ending
 +
 +
Defeating Nina and stopping her, Steve reveals that his first memory was inside a Mishima Zaibatsu lab, and the only one he truly knew was Dr. Kliesen. Telling Nina that her name repeatedly appeared as he searched through his past, Steve then begins demanding answers.
 +
 +
Nina gets up and answers that the purpose of the labs was to genetically and physically create the ultimate soldier, but it ended in failure. Nina then reveals that the scar on his left arm was from the experiments. It is then told to Steve that the Zaibatsu had captured her forced her into cryosleep at the time.
 +
 +
Once Steve asks her if she is his mother, Nina denies the claim. Before any further discussion can be made, the Tekken Force begin shooting at them. Steve decides to deal with the Tekken Force while Nina escapes.

World-renowned boxing champion Steve Fox was on the search for his parents, in the hopes of unveiling the mystery behind his birth. After learning that he was in fact artificially created in a Mishima Zaibatsu research facility, he destroyed the facility so that no more abominations like him would ever be created again. He tried to reenter the world of boxing, but all the major tournaments had been cancelled due to the outbreaks of war around the world. It was then that he accepted the invitation from Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law to train with them<ref>TTT2 Wii U Edition bio. Introduction

Steve Fox (スティーブ・フォックス Sutību Fokkusu) was introduced in Tekken 4, and he has returned for all subsequent titles.

Story

Prologue (In-Game Text)
Steve was a young British boxer enjoying his run as the middleweight champion of the world. Adopted during infancy, Steve sought the identity of his biological parents, as well as the origin of the scar on his arm.
One day, Steve was ordered by a Mafia group to throw a high-stakes fight, but he refused and instead won the fight. Unfortunately, the Mafia made good on their threats and put a price on Steve's head. With the Mafia in hot pursuit, Steve fled England for the United States and led a life on the run. But Steve soon realized that no matter what he did, the Mafia would eventually catch and kill him. Motivated by this realization, Steve sought the limelight once again and entered The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4.
Epilogue (In-Game Text)
Fortunately for us, Steve has an assassin gunning for him... We'll take advantage of this situation. Kill Steve by serving him up to the assassin.
Ending (Unofficial Synopsis)
Inside the Mishima Zaibatsu Data Room, Steve is trying to find some information on his past. From a computer, Steve learns that he was conceived through vitro-fertilization through Nina Williams.
Outside of "The Union Jack" (which is probably a hotel), a black limousine stops in front the building, and two men in suits step out. Steve comes out shortly afterwards, and walks toward the entrance. However, behind Steve, the first man pulls out a gun and points it towards him. It is then shot out of his hand. Steve notices the gunshot and turns around. He looks up into a building and sees Nina holding a sniper rifle. The second man tries to shoot Steve, but is gun was also shot out of his hand. The previous man tries again, but is shot again. Steve then knocks them out.
Nina tries to escape but Steve pursues her, until they reach an alleyway. Steve seems to have lost her, until she comes out from behind him with a gun. Steve begins to speak and Nina puts her gun down. However, the moment is interrupted when Lei Wulong comes in, threatening to shoot Nina if she resists. While Steve stops Lei from chasing his mother, Nina flees.

Trivia

 • Steve's Tekken 4 ending is connected to Nina Williams and Lei Wulong's endings.
 • Steve is one of the few characters in Tekken 4 to have a determined sub-boss fight in Arcade mode. His sub-boss is his mother, Nina, and the fight takes place in the Statue stage.

Story

Prologue (In-Game Text)
Steve Fox, a boxing prodigy striving to be the world champion. Steve entered the previous tournament to look into the mystery of his birth. Lei Wulong helped Steve discover that he was actually a creation of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Steve vowed revenge. Just then, Steve learned of The King Of Iron Fist Tournament 5. The world champion enters without a second thought. A determined Steve says, "The Mishima Zaibatsu will never make another monster like me!"
Interludes (Unofficial Synopsis)
Stage 4 Lei Wulong: Lei is surprised that Steve is in the tournament. Steve asks Lei if he participated because of the guy who trashed that dojo and Lei confirms this. He adds that the guy is a very dangerous fighter and he needs to warm up. He asks Steve if he is up for some sparring. Steve replies, "You're on." After Steve wins, Lei, who is sitting on the ground, compliments Steve on his strength. Steve tells Lei that he'll take care of the guy if he runs into him. Lei thanks Steve and says that he'll be counting on him.
Stage 7 Heihachi Mishima: Steve walks up to Heihachi and asks if he is the man behind the Mishima Zaibatsu. Heihachi tells Steve that he is grossly mistaken, Steve yells to him "quit playing dumb" and wants Heihachi to tell him everything. After Steve wins, he tells Heihachi, who is lying on the ground, that his research is a complete failure. Heihachi replies with "You think this tournament ends with me?" Steve asks him what does he mean and who else is behind the Mishima Zaibatsu and Heihachi answers with telling Steve to go to Ground Zero.
Final Stage: Jinpachi Mishima: Steve walks through Final Stage 2. Jinpachi (in human form) walks up behind him and says, "I'm impressed that you've made it this far. I am Jinpachi Mishima. My goal... My goal is to destroy all existence!" Shortly after Jinpachi starts to speak, Steve turns around and notices him. After he finishes speaking, Jinpachi transforms into his "Devil" form.
Epilogue (In-Game Text)
After gaining control of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Steve heads to a certain location.
Ending (Unofficial Synopsis)
Steve destroys several lab equipment in rage inside a Mishima Zaibatsu lab. Then he looks at a tank, which either contains a life form or is the place where he was conceived. He punches the glass, possibly to stop the creation of someone like him. After this, he takes out a cigarette lighter and burns the whole building down, and walks away satisfied.

Trivia

 • Steve's sub-bosses are Lei Wulong and Heihachi Mishima.
 • Namco broke the Japanese-English barrier built into Tekken 4, allowing the characters to speak in their native languages instead of either English or Japanese. As a result, Steve was given a stereotypical working class Southern UK/Irish accent, contradicting the North London accent he had in Tekken 4 to the anger of many British fans. He still has this accent in Tekken 6, but it is less pronounced.
 • In the first picture in his prologue, Steve is fighting against Paul Phoenix. Coincidentally enough, Steve would receive an invite to train with Paul, and his friend Marshall Law, in Tekken 6.

Story

Prologue (In-Game Text)
Steve Fox destroyed the Mishima Zaibatsu laboratories and finally cleared his conscience. He then attempted to re-enter the world of boxing, but all the large tournaments were cancelled due to the outbreak of war around the globe. Without boxing, Steve lost his only livelihood, an unfortunate turn that quickly led to a very unfulfilling life. About the same time, Steve received an invitation from Marshall Law and Paul Phoenix to train with them. Steve saw this as a good opportunity to experience other fighting styles and accepted their invitation.
Ending (Unofficial Synopsis)
Steve, along with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law, celebrates his victory in the tournament inside a small house. Mishima Zaibatsu soldiers bring the prize money inside one by one. Paul reminds them that they'll split the money 3 ways "just like we promised". However, Steve politely rejects his share and tells them that the experience alone was reward enough, and then leaves the two. Outside, a soldier presses a button, which starts a counter within one of the briefcases. Shortly after he leaves, Paul and Law, delighted with the fact that they now have so much money, states how much of a nice guy Steve is. Paul and Law continue to celebrate, unaware that they only have a few seconds left. Outside, Steve is quite far away from the house when the bomb goes off. He turns around, and a shocked look overtakes his face as he looks on the flaming wreckage of the shack.

Trivia

 • In the Scenario Campaign mode, Steve is a boss at the Abyss Gate stage.
 • Steve's Stage 1 and Stage 2 opponents in Arena mode are Heihachi Mishima and Nina Williams.
 • His Item Move lets him punch his opponent in the air while his second allows him to do a special taunt.
 • Steve can be customized to resemble Little Mac from "Punch-Out!!" on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, using the black "slicked back base" with the "spiky front" and turning his boxing gloves and shorts green, as seen in this video.
 • Steve can also be customized to almost look like Renn Kiriyama, who portrayed Shotaro Hidari/Kamen Rider Double's left half body, from Kamen Rider Double.

Story (Official Website)

Steve Fox has had plenty of run-ins with the Mishima Zaibatsu, but he never gave up his search for information about his past. Though his mother's identity remained a mystery, one name, in particular, began to crop up time and again: Nina Williams.

Believing she knew something, Steve began investigating her whereabouts until he came up with a promising lead. The information led him to an imposing cathedral. As he considered how best to proceed, a figure appeared from inside, dressed in a tattered wedding gown.

It was Nina, who seemed to be running away from something. Steve told her to stop, but she ignored him and fled. Determined not to let this opportunity escape him, he blocked her path.

Ending

Defeating Nina and stopping her, Steve reveals that his first memory was inside a Mishima Zaibatsu lab, and the only one he truly knew was Dr. Kliesen. Telling Nina that her name repeatedly appeared as he searched through his past, Steve then begins demanding answers.

Once Steve asks her if she is his mother, Nina denies the claim. Before any further discussion can be made, the Tekken Force begin shooting at them. Steve decides to deal with the Tekken Force while Nina escapes.

Trivia

Hwoarang: What the hell were they thinking?

Steve: Well that's Shadaloo for you... You'd think they would have better things to do than to interrupt our fight. I guess we'll have to call this one a draw for now.

Hwoarang, furious that he was not able to fulfill his master's wishes, and Steve, furious that someone would interfere with his match, decide to team up, and set off for their quest for revenge.

Hwoarang: I'm coming to kick your face in!

Steve: Very colorful. Try and save that kind of thing till we actually find them.

Hwoarang: Please that was just practice.

Rival Battle

Hwoarang and Steve run into Poison and Hugo who are fighting over to eat hotdogs (Hugo) or Chinese food (Poison). Steve attempts to break up the fight and while threatening to call Baek if Hwoarang refused to help, accidentally gropes one of Poison's breasts. The latter, now furious, attacks Steve and Hwoarang.

Ending

Steve and Hwoarang finally obtain the box which Hwoarang remarks that he had done solo and states that Steve may have even been better off wearing a cheerleader's outfit. Steve then asks Hwoarang if he could take on a new opponent on his own which Hwoarang jokingly retorting that he could take on 100. Suddenly a bright light appears and the two end up confronting 100 Akumas. The two just say "Oh Hell" before they are hit by Akuma's trademark "Raging Demon"

Epilogue It is later revealed that thanks to his escape from Akumas he received an incredible amount of dodging power and speed. This, however, would not only result with Steve rising up the ranks of the boxing world but also decrease the amount of fighters challenging him. Later he eagerly accepts Hwoarang's invitation to return to the South Pole to once again fight the 100 Akumas

Tekken (2010 Film): Luke Goss as Steve Fox.

Story (Unofficial Synopsis)

Steve Fox appears in the Tekken movie, portrayed by British singer/actor, Luke Goss. In the film, he is an older, retired fighter who sponsors Jin in the tournament after the latter defeated Marshall Law. He has no blood ties to Nina Williams apparently, knew Jun Kazama before her death, and becomes Jin's friend and mentor. He is killed by Jackhammers while breaking Jin and the other imprisoned participants out of their holding cells.

Character Trivia

 • Steve's character was originally given the name Dean Earwicker. This was changed after a substantial amount of negative feedback from the Tekken community. The name has been referenced twice in the Tekken series. The first time was in Tekken 4's Tekken Force side game, where a Tekken Force member that is encountered at the fourth stage (the "Mishima Fortress" stage) is named "Dean Earwicker". This Tekken Force member also has a stance similar to Steve's. The second time was in Tekken 5's "Arcade Battle" mode, where a Tekken Lord Steve Fox is named "Dean Earwicker". Another "Dean Earwicker" was later found as a ghost for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, partnered with a Hwoarang.
 • Because he is a boxer, Steve Fox does not have normal kick attacks. However, there are a few instances where Steve uses his legs to attack, such as his get-up kicks, jumping kicks, and a single attack where he stomps on the opponent's foot.
 • Another move of Steve's, his Endless Roll (4~3~f 1,2... _2,1...), is a variation of the Dempsey Roll, which was created and first used by the Heavy Weight Boxing Champion of the 1920's, Jack Dempsey. This move was further popularized by the use of the protagonist Makunoichi Ippo in the popular Japanese manga and anime Hajime no Ippo
 • Steve's unblockable move, Hellfire (qcb,F+2), is the only unblockable attack where damage can be reduced by blocking it. When blocked, its properties also change.
 • He is most likely unaware that Anna Williams is Nina's sister and thus his aunt.
